2020 Annual Conference FAQ's

11 Mar 2020

Why was the RES 2020 Conference cancelled?

Following the COVID-19 outbreak, the Royal Economic Society has reluctantly cancelled its 2020 Annual Conference that was due to be held at Queen’s University Belfast from 6-8 April. The decision follows constant monitoring of the situation by RES officers and staff and takes into account the latest available information.

However, we are delighted to announce that the 2021 annual conference will be held at Queen’s University, Belfast.

Will the 2020 Annual Conference be postponed until a later date?

The 2020 conference has been cancelled rather than postponed. The RES Annual Conference is planned a long time in advance, and involves coordination between the venue, suppliers, speakers, volunteers and many other important stakeholders.
