All of our conference buildings are fully accessible either by paved flat floor areas or have ramps upon approach. Lifts are available in all buildings used for conference sessions with audible visual indicators to all floors. All of our internal and external building stairways have railing support.
Accessible and gender-neutral toilets are located within all of our buildings. Where these are on the first floor, they are located near to lifts. Transgender delegates are welcome to use whichever facilities they wish.
We have a small number of mobility scooters, electric and manual wheelchairs which can be requested prior to your arrival. These can be offered on a first come first served basis for the duration of your stay and there are power outlets in accommodation blocks where these can be charged if required.
We welcome assistance dogs at Warwick and if required we can provide a water bowl within your event building and bedroom, just let us know. All we ask is that your assistance dog is clearly identifiable when entering buildings so that our team are aware of their presence.
If you have any concerns or questions regarding your specific accessibility requirements, these can be directed to your event organiser prior to your arrival.
The Oculus building has push pads on entrance and exit at the 3 main doors (two at the front and 1 at the side of the building) to assist with wheelchair access. The two lecture theatres have designated spaces for wheelchair access from the lower ground, and 1st floor level.
For hearing assistance in the Oculus guests can use our infra-red systems which requires a personal neck loop that can be obtained from a member of the Warwick Conferences team, located at Conference Reception, Student Union Building. Alternatively please contact Elizabeth.Vasileva@warwick.ac.uk and we can have this available from the Registration Desk in the Oculus building.
The Social Sciences building has automatic doors for all entrances used by Royal Economic Society Annual Conference. The picture at the top of the page shows the easiest route (following the red line) from the Oculus to Social Sciences. This route is paved with drop curbs for wheelchair access.
