This committee advises the Executive Committee on the success of the Society’s existing publications and on the development of possible new publishing activities. It monitors the performance of the journal publisher and ensures effective liaison between the Society and its publisher.
It monitors the external environment to ensure that potential changes are acted on as soon as possible and provides advice on editorial appointments.

Professor Sir Tim Besley is School Professor of Economics of Political Science and W. Arthur Lewis Professor of Development Economics in the Department of Economics at LSE. He is also a member of the National Infrastructure Commission, Fellow of the Econometric Society and British Academy. He is also a Foreign Honorary Member of the American Economic Association and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Alessandra received her PhD from Boston University. She is currently Professor of Financial Economics at the University of Birmingham. She is an associate editor of the European Journal of Finance. Her research interests are in the areas of applied financial economics, health economics, and the economics of transition in China.

Gilat Levy is a Professor at the Economics department at LSE and has been a Managing Editor at The Economic Journal since Feb 1st 2018. Her research focuses on political economy and information economics. She was a board member for many journals such as the American Economic Review, Review of Economic Studies, and Theoretical Economics.

Chris is Head of the Economics department at the University of Manchester and was the associate editor of the Economic Journal between 2009 and 2015.
Morten is a Professor of Economics at University College London and works on macroeconomics. He is also Deputy Chairman of the Danish National Research Foundation (DNRF), and a Research Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR).

Leighton joined the RES as Chief Executive in 2017. Prior to joining the Society, Leighton held senior roles at a large academic publisher and at the Microbiology Society. A social scientist by background, he has a postgraduate diploma in Voluntary Sector Management from Cass Business School and a diploma in Charity Management from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.
