Our friendly professional staff are based at the RES's Westminster office and are responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Society under the direction of the Chief Executive.

Leighton joined the RES as Chief Executive in 2017. Prior to joining the Society, Leighton held senior roles at a large academic publisher and at the Microbiology Society. A social scientist by background, he has a postgraduate diploma in Voluntary Sector Management from Cass Business School and a diploma in Charity Management from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.

Marie-Luiza manages all operations within the Society, covering Finance, Human Resources, Events, Grants and Council Elections. She is also data protection lead on GDPR. Marie-Luiza has an extensive background as a senior manager within the Charity Sector specialising in new projects around organisational change and workforce development.

Antonia has worked in academic publishing since completing her Publishing MA at Oxford Brookes University in 2016. Notably, Antonia has previous experience of working on a society journal at the International Federation of Gynecology & Obstetrics (FIGO). In addition to a Publishing MA, Antonia holds a Psychology BSc.

Iara joined the RES as Finance Officer on 3 December 2018. She holds a first class BA in Journalism from the Methodist University of Piracicaba, Brazil. She is currently studying for an AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting, and previously worked at The Nautical Institute as their Finance Assistant Manager.

Raj joined the Society in January 2019. She has previous experience in Office Management for various types of companies, including roles within logistics, media and aviation. Her responsibilities are to support the team across communications, events, and finance.

Bradley joined the Royal Economic Society in April 2019. He studied at King’s College London and has a background in digital media, having previously worked for the World Organisation for Animal Health in Paris and Age UK in digital communication and marketing roles. He has also written for The Independent, the i, The Daily Telegraph, Culture Trip and others.
