Authors are requested to provide a PDF version of their complete typescript (including tables, figures and appendices) in one single file, and an editable version of the paper (Word or Latex) to be typeset for printing. Authors may wish to send separate files for tables or figures to ensure sufficient quality for reproduction.
Accepted articles should conform to the EJ Style Guide (PDF).
Further style requirements can be found in the Notes for Contributors.
Authors must sign the Typescript Checklist (PDF) and the Exclusive Licence Agreement (PDF). Please email these forms with your finalised manuscript to avoid publication delays.
We have a Bibtex file to help with your references. Latex users can download the file here.
(We would like to thank Dr Stefanie Schurer, Victoria University of Wellington, for creating this file.)
To ensure timely publication, we ask that authors return their finalised manuscripts within two months of acceptance. Deadlines for Feature and Conference issues may be shorter. Please refer to the deadlines stated on the acceptance letter.
Articles are published online before they are assigned to an issue. They appear first as Accepted Articles (reviewed, unedited papers), then as Early View articles (fully edited papers). We aim to publish unedited articles online within a few days of receipt in production.
Authors can make their articles available online to non-subscribers with OnlineOpen. If you would like to use this service please read the terms and conditions and complete the payment form.
The EJ media consultant, Romesh Vaitilingham, can support authors in generating media interest around their article. Authors whose article is likely to stimulate public interest will be contacted by the consultant to organise a media pack and press release that is circulated to around 450 journalists internationally.
Past media briefings have encouranged widespread interest in EJ articles and stimulated discussion in top journals, news and radio programmes. See our media briefings for examples.
