Call for Papers: Royal Economic Society. 2017 Annual Conference. University of Bristol, 10-12 April

Submissions of papers and special sessions are invited for the 2017 Annual Conference of the Royal Economic Society, taking place from Monday 10 April to Wednesday 12 April 2017 at the University of Bristol.

Papers must be submitted by 9 October 2016 (midnight, GMT) via the link available on the conference webpage.
Proposals for special sessions must be sent by 25 October 2016 to the Programme Chair ( and should comprise a short description of the proposed session, names of contributors (typically three/four), paper titles and indicative session costs.

Notification of acceptance will be by the end of December 2016. Online registration will open in January 2017 and the deadline for early bird registration will be 8th February.

Note that authors of papers accepted for presentation at the 2017 RES conference will be entitled to submit their papers for possible publication in the associated conference issue of the Economic Journal.

The keynote lectures will be given by:

Gita Gopinath (Harvard University) - Hahn Lecture
Hilary Hoynes (UC Berkeley) - Economic Journal Lecture
James Stock (Harvard University) – Sargan Lecture

There will be a drinks reception at the Bristol Museum & Art Gallery on Monday 10 April and the Gala Dinner on Tuesday 11 April will be at the Passenger Shed, Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s iconic old station.
